Sale includes one buffet as pictured. A remarkable contradiction of materials gives the Great Jones Server unmistakable elegance and chic character. The cabinet is crafted from walnut solids, its door fronts finished in highly figured Mozambique finish, while the sides and surrounding frame are finished in Basalt lacquer. Its top, three sections of mahogany or black (your choice), is set into a frame of walnut finished in Basalt. The four, slightly recessed doors are surrounded by a molded cornice that slightly dishes out from the door fronts and finished Basalt. The two center doors and independent side doors open to an interior with one fixed center shelf and finished in Basalt lacquer. The cabinet rests lightly on a recessed metal base terminating to four straight legs, its sleek frame finished in Oil Rubbed Bronze.
About The Bill Sofield Collection..
Interior Design magazine described Bill Sofield as “a choreographer of spaces.” Considered one of the most thoughtful design talents of his generation and a true master of Modernism, Sofield believes that design must serve the client’s individual needs and function as beautifully as it looks. Sofield’s design approach introduces creative tension that allows the character of a room to reveal itself over time. And his furniture and product design map out each object’s future, designing it to improve with use and age, as it eventually becomes a treasured heirloom
